Share your skills and passion

Camp is all about fun. A lot of that fun happens across our 20 activity areas, ranging from water activities, racquet/team sports and outdoor adventure to art, dance and drama. Our specialists oversee all aspects of these activity areas including equipment, organization and safety. But the best part? Teaching campers new skills. Helping them achieve a level they’ve been working on. Encouraging them to their potential in something they already love.

What makes a great specialist at Wahanowin? The perfect balance of proficiency and passion. Some of our activity areas require technical skills and certifications (i.e. swim, ski). But all require enthusiasm, great communication, patience, collaboration and positivity.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • All of our water activities and several of our skills-based activities require activity-specific and safety certifications. Please inquire about the activity you are interested in and the specific certifications required.

  • Pre-camp staff training begins on Saturday, June 21, 2025, and camp ends on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. We also have positions available for our spring season and our post-camp season. The spring season begins on Sunday, April 27, 2025, and the post season ends on Friday, October 3, 2025.

  • Most of our specialists live in cabins with campers, but there are some that live out in private or shared staff accommodations.

  • If you live in a cabin with campers, you will have responsibilities within your camper cabin. For those who live out, you will be assigned your “non-activity” responsibilities when you arrive at pre-camp.

  • All staff get one day off per week, not including the first week of camp and the last week of camp. Days off are 24 hours, beginning at 6pm and ending at 6pm the next day. Staff are permited to leave camp on their days off.

  • We have an application for new staff and returning staff here. Once you fill out the application and it is accepted, we will contact you for an interview.

  • You will be paid at the end of your contract, however, there will be one or two opportunities throughout the season to get “half-way” pay.

  • Outside visitors are not permitted at camp for either staff or campers, including on your day off, Visitors Day (unless you have a sibling that is a camper at camp), during free time or after camper bedtime. Visitors at camp disrupt the daily routine and can be distracting for staff and campers alike.
