Our swim area includes a swim deck and pavillion and two enclosed swim docks. The enclosed docks offer a shallow sandy beach bottom for our younger campers, and we also have a roped in deep end for older campers. Campers receive lessons at least three times per week, and our swim program follows the Lifesaving Society’s Swimmer Levels and system. We also offer the opportunity for campers to achieve their Bronze Med and Bronze Cross certifications while at camp.
Our swim staff includes up to 10 qualified National Lifeguard certified Lifeguards and Lifesaving Instructor certified staff, making them able to teach Canadian Swim Patrol Program, Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross, Lifesaving Fitness and Emergency First Aid and CPR. All swim and waterfront staff are trained in water emergency procedures and protocols, and we drill these procedures throughout the summer. We also have a buddy board system during free swim, as well as a maximum number of campers that are allowed to join based on provincial and Ontario Camps Associaton standards and guidelines.
