The Five Levels of
Achievement

At every skill-based activity, campers can build confidence and proficiency through our five levels of achievement. The five levels increase in difficulty, but the requirements remain the same from summer to summer. We designed them this way, so campers can work on achieving levels over time. Criteria for each level may include:

  • Demonstrating knowledge of activity-related theory, equipment and safety
  • Attempting, properly executing or mastering a skill or technique
  • Displaying good sportsmanship, leadership and encouragement
  • Meeting specific goals several times or over a number of summers

Each time a camper reaches a level, we announce their achievement at dinner. At the end of every summer, campers receive Achievement Certificates that detail all the levels they reached during the summer with personal notes from the Heads of Specialty. Our level system offers motivation and incentive for campers to work through challenging but achievable goals at activities while having fun.
