Why WahanowinJewish Tradition

Camp Wahanowin is proud to be a part of the Jewish community of Toronto and help serve our fellow communities around the world.

In turn, we deliver a program that inspires Jewish children to be proud of their heritage. Jewish values of kindness, tolerance and respect are taught as part of our program and are integral to everyday camp life. And each summer, we are joined by Israeli campers and staff, who strengthen our connection to Israel.

Jewish Elements in Our Program

  • Shabbat dinner and evening service focused on Jewish and humanistic values
  • Havdallah on Saturday evenings (optional)
  • Kosher style food (kosher meat available upon request)
  • Motzi blessing before each meal
  • Judaica crafts, pottery and woodworking
  • Guest speakers

Our Connection to Israel

  • Israel theme day
  • Campers and staff from Israel

All parents want is for their children to be happy, and Wahanowin has really become my girls’ happy place…their home away from home.”
