WE HOPE YOU WILL JOIN US AT WAHANOWIN THIS SUMMER AT THE LAST RESORT! 

Upon booking and prior to your arrival you will receive a welcome package with everything you need to know to prepare for your vacation.  In the meantime, here is some additional information about the experience:

1. What do I need to bring?
2. What Time is Check in?  Check out?
3. Can I book more than one week?

6. If we have family or friends attending the same week, can they be in a cabin nearby?

1. What do I need to bring?

  • You should bring bedding (Family cabins – double bed, single bedding for each child; Couple cabin – double bedding), towels, toiletries and enough clothing to last the week
  • We provide all of the necessary equipment to participate in every activity, but you are welcome to bring your own fishing rods, tennis racquets and sports equipment if desired
  • It is suggested you bring lawn chairs, mats or blankets to use on the beach or around your fire pit

2. What Time is Check-in?  Check-out?

  • Check-in is 4:00pm and check-out is 1:30pm after lunch

3. Can I book more than one week?

  • We require a day between departing and arriving guests to complete enhanced cleaning protocols to disinfect cabins, dining areas and program equipment
  • If you wish to book consecutive weeks, please contact our office

4. Can I book multiple cabins/group bookings?

  • Subject to availability, there is no limit to the number of cabins you can book

5. Can two families share a cabin?  Can my child bring a friend?

  • Based upon current guidelines from public health and the provincial government, all cabin occupants must be from the same household

6. If we have family or friends attending the same week, can they be in a cabin nearby?

  • Yes! You can indicate who you would like to be near to in the comments section of the booking form

7. Can I bring my dog?

  • You are welcome to bring your dogs with you to camp
  • Must be leashed at all times, except for marked “off leash” area
  • Not permitted in dining areas due to public health standards
  • You must clean up and properly dispose of all waste

8. What activities will be offered?

  • All of them!
  • Non-staff led activities will be available at all times – basketball, beach volleyball, gaga, hiking, lawn games, lounging on the beach, soccer field and tetherball
  • Waterfront including canoeing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, swimming and “tube island” will be open all day, every day
  • Waterskiing and tubing will be available to guests on a sign up basis
  • Archery, Camp Crafts, Fishing, High Ropes, Outdoor Cooking, Sailing, Tennis, Trapeze and the Zip Line will be scheduled throughout the week and highlighted in the daily Last Resort itinerary

9. How will meals be served?

  • Meals will be served family style
  • A table will be assigned in our dining hall or one of our dining tents for the duration of your stay or alternatively, you can take your meals “to go” to enjoy at your cabin
  • Social distancing signage will be in place
  • We can tailor menus to accommodate allergies, vegetarian, vegan or gluten free diets. A kosher option is available at an additional cost.
  • Our site is peanut and nut safe

10. Can I bring snacks into camp?  What about alcohol?

  • There are many staff on site with life-threatening allergies. We ask that any food that is brought into camp does not contain peanuts and/or tree nuts. Our tuck shop will be stocked with lots of snacks for you to purchase.
  • You may bring beverages to camp – every cabin will be equipped with a mini fridge
  • Alcohol is permitted but only to be enjoyed responsibly in your cabin, at your private picnic table or campfire pit

11. Is there WiFi?

  • Limited availability in a specific location to check emails or work (if you must) for a small fee
  • Not available in cabins or for streaming

12. What is included in the fee? 

  • Accommodations with indoor and outdoor tables, campfire pit
  • 3 meals daily, special snacks
  • Regular activities as shown above
  • Theme days, evening programming

13. What exciting “Resort” Add-Ons are available each week?

  • Tuck Shop – stocked with treats, ice cream, beverages, essentials, Waha wear
  • Excursions – ½ Day boat cruise with lunch to Big Chief Bay, sunset boat cruise
  • Counsellor for one-on-one care for your child(ren), evening “babysitting”
  • Special weekly programs and take-out meals

14. How do I sign up and pay for any “Add-Ons?

  • Upon arrival and throughout your stay you can sign up for these options which will be highlighted in our daily Last Resort itinerary
  • You will be asked to provide a credit card (Visa or Mastercard) when you check in for optional add-ons
  • All charges for optional programs, meals, activities, WiFi or Tuck Shop purchases will be charged to your cabin throughout the week
  • Upon departure you will be able to settle your account by cash, eTransfer or Visa/Mastercard* (*subject to 2.5% fee)

15. What COVID precautions will be in place?

  • All aspects of the Resort operations will be within the framework mandated at the time by the Province of Ontario and Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit
  • Pre-arrival and arrival screening procedures
  • Enhanced cleaning prior to your arrival and ongoing
  • Dedicated single household cabins, dining tables and PFD’s
  • Social distanced dining and activities
  • Sanitizer at every activity area for hands and equipment
  • Masks should be worn in indoor public spaces or when you can’t socially distance from other guests outdoors

16. Can we leave site to go shopping or out to eat in town?

  • Everything you need for your stay should be brought with you, is included in your vacation package or is available to purchase at camp
  • You are discouraged from leaving camp during your stay

17. What is the cancellation policy?  What is your COVID-related cancellation policy?

  • Cancellations more than 14 days prior to arrival date – full refund of fees less deposit
  • Cancellations within 14 days of arrival date – no refund
  • Cancellations due to positive COVID test within 14 days of your arrival – full refund less $100 administrative fee
  • Cancellation due to closure by Public Health or the Government of Ontario – full refund of fees
