With a French Canadian heritage and love for classical French cooking, our Head Chef Roch Beaudry has spent his entire professional life in the foodservice industry, with 2015 marking the 20th anniversary of pursuing this passion and his seventh season at Wahanowin.
His initial career at camp was as Sous Chef from 2007 through 2010, during which time he quickly established his skill with signature soups, salads and precision presentation. With a career that was still just beginning, he departed from camp and spent the next couple of years working in the Muskokas and Cottage country further refining his skills in both local favourite restaurants and fine dining establishments. At the same time, he received his Red Seal Certification, a universally recognized and highly prestigious certification of Chef Apprenticeship in Canada.
Despite moving on to other pursuits, Roch kept in contact with the camp and in 2013 when the opportunity became available, he returned in the role as Head Chef, overseeing all aspects of our kitchen and dining hall.
Roch is committed to maintaining the traditions of excellence in foodservice established by Bubby Nash over half a century ago while elevating it to modern tastes and trends of today’s generation. Bon Appétit!
