The Wahanowin Health Centre is staffed by an on site doctor and three nurses all summer long. We pride ourselves in the medical attention campers receive and we are well equipped to handle any situation. “Sick Call” happens after every meal and is an opportunity for campers to see the camp doctor if something is troubling them. Campers on regular daily medications go to the Health Centre at their designated times to receive their “meds” administered by one of our camp nurses.
If a camper needs to be admitted to the Health Centre, they will stay in a very comfortable bed with lots to do including games, books, cards and movies and will receive 24 hour supervision. If a camper requires additional tests or treatments not provided in our Health Centre, Orillia’s Soldier Memorial Hospital is just 14 minutes away from camp and is one of central Ontario’s finest hospitals.
All campers receive a health check when they arrive at camp and another one before they depart. A healthy camp is a happy camp (and we’re a very happy camp)!
